Origins Game Fair 2022 Recap

We had an amazing time at Origins Game Fair last week! Our team is safe back home, well rested, and full of fond memories. After meeting all of you in Columbus, we're even more excited for Gen Con in just a few weeks!

Before we forget all the highlights of the week, we wanted to share them with you in this walk down memory lane.

Wednesday - Setup Day

After picking up our badges, us three core team members dove into booth setup on Wednesday morning. Fortunately all our pallets were delivered to our booth already, so we were able to breathe easy and get to work. Look at how excited Adrien and Camille were once we had everything setup!

We had a fairly large booth, with seven demo tables total! We were showing off three of our latest and greatest games: Oltree, Nidavellir, and Akropolis - available early at the show! To make players feel immersed in the game settings, we also had huge banners that matched each game. You could almost smell the Mediterranean breeze coming off of the Akropolis banner!

Thursday - Day 1

The show opened with a bang on Thursday morning, as people rushed into the hall. As attendees found seats at demo tables and checked in for events, Danni was busy taking press meetings. One Board Family filmed this overview of Akropolis while at the booth!

Akropolis was definitely one favorites of the convention, with the three demo tables in action almost all of the time. All the fans made sure our demoers were busy!

Friday - Day 2

This was a repeat of Thursday, with consistent demos, press meetings, and excited purchases. We actually were close to running out of Akropolis this afternoon, and had to set aside a couple dozen for Saturday morning.

Larry from Tantrum House also stopped by our booth to check out the previews of our Gen Con releases. Read his Instagram post for a closer look at Oh Really, Northgard: Uncharted Lands, Turing Machine, and Critical: Foundations. We'll have copies of all these titles for purchase and demo at the show in August!

Saturday - Day 3

We started this morning with another filmed interview with Man Vs Meeple, even before the hall opened! What a way to kick off the busiest day of the show! Watch the video to listen to Danni's explication of all our Gen Con releases.

This was a huge day for Akropolis, since we ended up selling out of our last copies at 10:10 am. But don't worry! If you weren't able to pick it up at the show, pre-orders are still open. This was by far the most popular game of the show, which we were so happy to see!

Sunday - Last Day

We had another rush on Sunday morning, but this time for Nidavellir! Several people hurried to our booth to pick up our very last copies of the base game and Thingvellir expansion. So many people discovered this gem that released a couple years ago. It's great to see, especially since we'll be releasing the Idavoll expansion this fall!

We'd like to extend a huge thank you to all the press, fans, and friends who came to visit our booth during the show. You made our very first Origins an amazing experience and, like we said earlier, we are filled to the brim with excitement for Gen Con!
